Post Primary Update

by Andrew

We were surprised both by the extent and the nature of the media coverage this story has generated.  Judicial elections are unique in that very limited information on the candidates is readily available.  It is often difficult for the non-lawyer to see behind the spin of high-dollar campaigns and get to a candidates legal record.  Though we attempted to alert the media privately, when that effort failed we made the decision to go public with the ad in direct response to claims made on Mr. Mantooth’s campaign flyers.  We do agree with Mr. Mantooth that the voters should look at his experience and record when deciding how to cast their vote for District Judge.  It is our sincere hope now that the primary is over that the voters and the media will take the next three months to do just that.  We’ve provided black and white examples that we feel will allow voters to discover the nature and character of Mantooth’s record.  We will supplement the website as new and relevant information becomes available.
